Michael P. Boggs (born December 28, 1962) is an American lawyer who has served as the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia since 2022. He concurrently serves as an associate justice of the court since 2017.
The first Chief Justice of the Court was Joseph Henry Lumpkin, who was appointed to that position in 1863. Under the current Constitution of Georgia, the Chief Justice is designated as "the chief presiding and administrative officer of the court," and is elected by the justices. [4]
