The Streamlight Dualies in use Before looking at any other aspect, it is important to highlight that these Dualie lights are Intrinsically Safe. That really is what it says - Intrinsically Safe devices are specifically designed to limit electrical and thermal energy that might be available for ignition.
Streamlight 2AA ProPolymer LED Light mini-review I have just received 3 of these – first impressions are very positive. Long runtime with enough light for most common jobs. Light output ceiling bounce - just under a Fenix L2D-CE at Medium. Nice smallish hot spot to reach out with side...
The Compact II's beam profile is shown here compared to the other Streamlight lights I have on review. The Compact II has a brighter wider hotspot than its predecessor the Sidewinder. Taking this a little further, I calculated an approximate factor to apply to the lux measurements, as each measurement gets further from the centre of the beam ...

I just started looking at Streamlight LED flashlights that use a single 18650 battery and are 1,000 lumens. My search quickly brought me to both the Streamlight ProTac HL-X and the Streamlight ProTac HPL USB. At first glance, I thought they were the same, but closer examination shows that they are similar, but different.
For some years, I used an SL-20x with an original Streamlight SL-35 lamp assembly and a Streamlight 'flasher/dimmer'-tailcap. This is a reliable incan combination that a lot of CPF'ers have used over the years. Since 2008, I have a Malkoff Triple Warm in my SL-20x (rated 510 lumens). This is an LED-'drop-in'.
I was wondering if an 18650 lithium ion battery is similar in size to a Streamlight 3.7 V lithium ion battery that is used inside my Streamlight Strion LED. The Streamlight battery is approximately 3/4 of an inch across (19.5mm) and 2 7/8 inches long (71mm). I was hoping to use the...
Streamlight on the other hand were also building lights for the same group such as police and rescue squad folks. Yet their approach was not as radical as the SureFire so their products were respected yet nothing folks got all whipped into a frenzy about. Now once it was obvious the LED was not going away a slew of new companies popped up.
So long as it doesn't make battery insertion difficult. The way it's designed now, if you added springs, the batteries could try to pop out/up while trying to put the two halves together. That wouldn't be good. Streamlight may have left the excess gap in there to facilitate the tolerances of different brands of batteries, past, present and future.
New Old Stock, for sale merchandise manufactured long ago but never yet used. So the same streamlight that was available at one point, that someones been sitting on. This same question has been posed a dozen times on Candlepower, but no one else has made one, production or custom, other than that one streamlight did years ago.
