Safariland does have a belt with the QLS hole spacing but I think it is 2-1/4" wide, no idea if it also accepts ELS without drilling. What I found with adapting things to the ELS system is: I need to be willing to fiddle around, not be afraid to drill holes, use oddball screws, search the specialty screw bins at the hardward store and not be ...
The new hole in the QLS fork was biased to give the holster a slightly forward cant....basically copied the cant used with my G34 Safariland holster. Using the same plastic/rubber spacers, the Safariland binding post screws with the knurled 'locking' surface was used to secure the fork to the holster:
QLS was designed for the holsters, larger footprint and required more breakaway force than ELS. In our game, I run ELS for everything, including holster. In two seasons, have not had any issues, and it's nice having an extra ELS receiver plate for a long, all shotgun COF.
Has anyone had any luck mounting an Invictus caddy (Q8 or Q12) to a Safariland QLS Fork (NOT an ELS)? Thinking of a way to use my QLS plate for extra shotgun shells on stages when I don't have to carry a pistol.
The QLS is meant for holsters. ELS is for other items. Yes, QLS will work for holsters. Example picture: QLS receiver plate mounted to belt, Invictus Practical holster hanger mounted to QLS hook/adapter/whatever it is called, Safariland GLS holster mounted to holster hanger. Can remove it from belt as needed.
The holes would be spaced 1/2" apart on the hanger section. The QLS would align where you could mount it that way. Put the female on the hanger and the male on your holsters. You would then loose the offset of the hanger.
I'm putting together my first competition rig on a Safariland ELS belt - the one with the swiss-cheese holes in it. I have a QLS mounting plate so I can swap out holsters. Glock one day, single stack the next. When I went to attach the QLS to my belt I found that I could only attach the QLS by two holes - both close to each other.
Will the QLS 22 receiver plate mount directly to the ELS belt or does it need an adapter of some sort? I thought I read somewhere that the QLS holes were different from the ELS hole spacing. Also, does anyone know if a QLS 19 locking fork will mount directly to a Bladetech DOH Holster without any...
If you have a BladeTech DOH holster, the DOH attachment holes (2 of them) will line up with the QLS fork, I had to drill the third. I had some BT pouches w/o the teklok and I had to drill one hole in there too. Also I set up a CR Speed double mag pouch and used the metal backer plate to attach the ELS fork - holy crap!
Attach a QLS Fork (male) to your Comp-Tac Holster body. Discard the spacers included with the BOSS Hanger and replace them with machine washers. With most holsters, this will maintain compliance with USPSA/SCSA Rule 5.2.5 for Production Division. Mount a Safariland QLS Fork to any additional holsters you wish to use.
