    In Band of Brothers it stated he was demoted down from regiment to battalion. What I'm not sure of is if he stayed an intelligence officer. The source of my confusion is that Winters (in the show) said he's been demoted to S-3, which is impossible since S-3 (operations) is a job usually held by a Major (Nixon was a Capt).
