This is a list of Iowa county courthouses. Each county in Iowa has a city that is the county seat where the county government resides, including a county courthouse, except for Lee County , which has two county seats and two county courthouses.
The Iowa County Courthouse in Marengo, Iowa, United States, was built in 1893. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 as a part of the County Courthouses in Iowa Thematic Resource. [1] The courthouse is the fourth building the county has used for court functions and county administration.
The first courthouse in the county was a two-story log cabin structure, built in 1838 in the settlement of Napoleon, [8] about two miles south of the current courthouse.
