If your wire from the battery to the unit is not 10ga or thicker for a long run thru the boat. Might check voltage at the battery, and then at the unit when it is on. No butt splice connectors, or cheap connectors. Garmin 1222 with LS pulls more than 7A. Depending on the unit you have night change current used. The LS black box uses some juice.

  3. Garmin Force trolling motor reviews? - Texas Fishing Forum

Garmins customer service is exceptional. But after having the spot lock go out repeatedly and having to do all major repairs myself since there’s is no garmin repair center nearby, I had to go back to ultrex. When the force works properly, there is not a better trolling motor out there. I run all garmin graphs and loved the force when it worked.

  4. Lowrance Active Target2 vs. Garmin LVS34 Comparison!!

    texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/...

To me. The Garmin is way clearer. That being said. I’m a 100% Lowrance guy. But I would like to see the above comment demo’d on both. The ability to see baits of different size in the water column. I do have to say on my Garmin in my boat, I have a hard time seeing my bait at times.

  6. Garmin's Active Captain App Pros and Cons? - Texas Fishing Forum

    texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/...

Garmin changed the way updates download to an SD card on the latest one and I tried twice to update with the SD and couldn't get it to work Now I have found out I should have put the blank card in the unit first because the unit installs a file, .gpx I think, to the card and then the SD card update would have worked.

  7. Lowrance Live Sight vs Garmin Live Scope - Texas Fishing Forum

    texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/...

Sounds like active target is the way to go. Here is my final question on AT. We mainly fish white bass, hybrids and striper. The guide I fished with had his Garmin mounted to a PVC pole at the back of his boat that shot the signal down the side of the boat vs on the trolling motor so he could see his clients baits and see if fish were chasing it.

  8. Garmin Force trolling motor - Texas Fishing Forum

    texasfishingforum.com/.../all/garmin-force-trolling-motor

If Lowrance/Garmin was really smart , they would show how a brushless motor compares to brushed motors regarding the actual noise frequency . Every motor ever designed , makes some type of noise. If the "Ghost " model is truly that quiet --- then show the market place the actual measurements taken in the water --- where it counts.

  9. Honest reviews on Garmin Force TM - Texas Fishing Forum

    texasfishingforum.com/.../honest-reviews-on-garmin-force-tm

The stow assist it very helpful - way easier than my previous MK and the function of automatically turning the motor to the right position for stowing is great - anchor lock (or whatever garmin calls it) is spot on. Very quite on running but you can hear a little motor noise from where the motor to turn in is.

  10. Garmin 93sv plus V.S. ultra 106 for livescope - Texas Fishing...

    texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/...

I’ve been planning on getting a Garmin setup strictly for livescope soon. I had intended to get a ECHOMAP 93sv plus, but today I was in BassPro and the salesman showed me an ECHOMAP Ultra 106. He says it’s compatible with the $500 livescope transducer like the GPSmap instead of the $1500 one.

  11. $15 DIY Garmin Livescope Transducer Mount - Texas Fishing Forum

    texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/...

This is a short video of a Garmin Livescope Transducer Mount that I modified based on Southern Reels Fishing's design. I made some minor modifications to keep the cost to under $15 by using all PVC components. I wanted one that can pan around while driving the boat, and be easily stowed for travel.
