Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam (JBPHH) (IATA: HNL, ICAO: PHNL, FAA LID: HNL) is a United States military base on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.It is an amalgamation of the United States Air Force's Hickam Air Force Base and the United States Navy's Naval Station Pearl Harbor, which were merged in 2010.

Upon activation, the 15th OG assumed responsibility from the 15th Air Base Wing for managing operational matters at Hickam AFB and Bellows AFS, Hawaii; and Wake Island Airfield. The group also provided command and control for the defense of the Hawaiian Islands and directed tactical control of Hawaii Air National Guard alert F-15 aircraft. [4]
In November 1944, the 17th moved to Hickam Field, Hawaii, where it was disbanded on 10 February 1945. The 17th was again activated on 15 January 1970, at Travis Air Force Base, California, as part of the 7th Weather Wing. It was inactivated on 30 June 1972. The squadron was activated once again on 1 April 1980, at Travis.
The 291st Combat Communications Squadron was activated into federal service 6 March 1967 at Hickam Air Force Base, Oahu, Hawaii. The organization relocated to temporary World War II vintage quarters on the Island of Hawaii in March 1976. In October 1982, the unit moved to its current facilities.
