"Selfie Pulla" (transl. Selfie Girl) is an Indian Tamil-language song composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The song was featured in the soundtrack for the 2014 Tamil action drama film Kaththi, directed by AR Murugadoss, that starred Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and was performed by the lead actor Vijay alongside Sunidhi Chauhan, with lyrics written by Madhan Karky. Vijay made his debut by singing "Bombay City Sukkha Rotti" (1994) in Rasigan. After his 25th song "Vaadi Vaadi" (2005) in Sachein, Vijay took a sabbatical from singing to concentrate on acting, [3] but made a comeback with "Google Google" in Thuppakki (2012). He won the Favorite Song of The Year at the Vijay Awards for his performance of the song.
A critic from Sify gave Kaththi 4 out of 5 and stated, "the movie is a well made entertainer with a powerful message". [147] S. Saraswathi of Rediff stated, "Kaththi attempts to highlight the pathetic condition of farmers, whose lives are being destroyed by callous multinational corporations" and rated it 3 out of 5 as well. The song was sung by actor Vijay and Anirudh, in his second song he sung for Anirudh after "Selfie Pulla" for Kaththi (2014) and the lyrics were penned by Arunraja Kamaraj.
