San Antonio, TX. 05/11/16 07:51 PM. 334 posts. Diocletian's Palace should be a walking tour. The palace is very concentrated, so you won't have a bike or segway option. 1700 posts. We hired Maja Benzon who is recommended by Rick. In fact, she is in one of his shows on Croatia. I highly recommend her for a private guided tour of Old Town and Diocletian's Palace. The walking tour is 2 hours long, and in 2019 she charged 500 kunas for 2 people. Well worth it!

We hired Maja Benzon, recommended by Rick, for a 2-hour private guided tour of Diocletian's Palace and Old Town. Loved the Ethnographic Museum.

    community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/croatia/best-day-tour-in-split...

best day tour in Split & Restaurants from cruise ship. Ill be in Split in late May 2024. I believe the port is basically walkable, but i think we might need tickets ahead of time for Diocletian's Palace, Cathedral of St. Domoninius, get into the crypts etc. Also any restaurant recommendations would be great too.
