Salem College is a private women's liberal arts college in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Founded in 1772 [ 1 ] as a primary school, it later became an academy (high school) and ultimately added the college.
In 2019, Governor's School West moved from Salem College to High Point University in High Point. GSW was again moved, in 2022 to Winston Salem State University and in 2024 to Greensboro College. While faculty and subject matter have changed over time, Governor's School remained basically unaltered from 1978 until 2009.
