The China Baseball League (Chinese: 中国棒球联赛, CBL) is a professional baseball league under the administration of Chinese Baseball Association, founded in 2002. The league suspended operations in 2012 due to financial troubles after the 2011 season, but returned in 2014. [1] The league closed in 2016.
China competed in the inaugural 2006 World Baseball Classic and finished 15th in the tournament. It also competed in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, managed by Terry Collins. In the 2009 tournament, China recorded a 4–1 win over Chinese Taipei but was eliminated after losses to Japan and South Korea. [citation needed]

At the beginning of its establishment, the Chinese Baseball League had only four teams, in 2005 the league was expanded to six teams, and in 2009 the league added another team, and the league eventually increased to seven.

The 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup, officially V U-23 Baseball World Cup, is the fifth edition of the U-23 Baseball World Cup tournament, sixth since the tournament's inception in 2014 as the 21U Baseball World Cup. The tournament will be held at Shaoxing Baseball and Softball Sports Culture Center in Shaoxing, China. [1]
