Michael J. Gorman (born 1955) is an American New Testament scholar. He is the Raymond E. Brown Professor of Biblical Studies and Theology at St. Mary's Seminary and University, where he has taught since 1991. [3] From 1995 to 2012 he was dean of St. Mary's Ecumenical Institute. [3]
He was formerly Senior Lecturer in New Testament at the University of Aberdeen. Drawn from his dissertation, his book Where is Boasting? (2002) was a critique of the New Perspective on Paul, and focused on Second-Temple Judaism and Romans 1-5. Since 2007, Gathercole has served as editor of the Journal for the Study of the New Testament.
