Later built aircraft were powered by six 746 kW (1,000 hp) Jumo 207C inline two-stroke opposed-piston diesel engines instead. The use of diesel fuel permitted refueling at sea by special re-supply U-boats. A single aircraft, C-13, was the only example to be fitted with Jumo 205C and later Jumo 205D engines.
