Damansara Perdana is part of the Golden Triangle of Petaling Jaya, situated in the Klang Valley, at Selangor, Malaysia.As one of the biggest developments in Petaling Jaya, this township is serviced by the Damansara–Puchong Expressway (LDP), the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), the Sprint Expressway (Penchala Link) and Damansara–Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH).

The township is located just north of Damansara Perdana (PJU 8), and east of Damansara Damai (PJU 10), and is within proximity to other townships such as Kepong, Kota Damansara (PJU 5), Bandar Utama (PJU 6), Mutiara Damansara (PJU 7), Bandar Menjalara, Sierramas and Valencia. It is situated opposite Desa Park City and Sunway SPK Damansara.

Damansara was originally a small harbour-like settlement that was located near the mouth of the Damansara River along the Klang River.In the mid-1870s, it was the final destination for steamboats used by the British to travel to Kuala Lumpur from Klang as the steam boats used cannot go as far as the center of Kuala Lumpur near the junction of Gombak River and Klang River.
Ara Damansara Park is located in the center of the township and has a 2 kilometre long walking path. Ara Damansara has a number of private hospitals and medical clinics. The township has a primary school, a secondary school, an international school and several pre-schools and kindergartens. It also has 2 post offices.
