When Kin'emon asked Luffy for his help, he refused and demanded that Momonosuke speak for himself. After remembering his parents being killed by Kaido, Momonosuke states his desire to take him down and Luffy for help. Accepting his request, Luffy and Law form an alliance with the minks and the samurai to take down Kaido and the shogun.

Despite his father's objections, Sabo left for the Gray Terminal. Sabo explains that his dream is to live freely on the sea and vows that they will become pirates. Ace reveals that he will become a pirate to become infamous and Luffy reveals his dream of becoming the King of the Pirates. The three become brothers by sharing a drink of sake.
Luffy attempt to fight back using Armament Haki, but his punches go right though him, much to Luffy's confusion, as Trebol question Luffy's assumption of his Devil Fruit being a Logia. Law tells Luffy that fighting Trebol is futile, while revealing Trebol's slime is in fact mucus, before he begins to insult Trebol and the other executives.
In the streets, Vivi and the remaining Straw Hats try to find a bomb set by Baroque Works to wipe out both armies. Luffy and Crocodile fight in the mausoleum. Crocodile hits Luffy with his poisonous hook, but Luffy is not stopped. The Straw Hats find the bomb, as well as Mr. 7 and Miss Father's Day in the city's clock tower.

Caesar tells his subordinates to release the poison gas into building R-66. Caesar consumes the gas and becomes a big monster. He then consumes his subordinates to intimidate Luffy. Usopp tells Caesar's subordinates that Luffy will never betray his crew. Luffy defeats Caesar with Grizzly Magnum and sends him flying away.
