Sea Rim State Park is a 4,141-acre (1,676 ha) state park in southeast Texas. [2] The park is located on the Gulf of Mexico in southern Jefferson County, south of Port Arthur and just west of Sabine Pass. The park was closed for several years due to extensive damage from Hurricanes Rita (2005) and Ike (2008). The park reopened in 2010.
Andrew Jackson Hodges Sr. (1890–1966), a native of Cotton Valley in Webster Parish, purchased more than 100,000 acres (400 km 2) of cut-over barren land and replanted 39,000 acres (160 km 2) in timber. The land included an old quarry. Hodges and his wife, the former Nona Trigg, planned a scenic garden around the natural rock formations.

The lake is 18 kilometres (11 mi) northeast of Ormoc, half an hour drive along the San Pablo -Tongonan and Milagro - Lake Danao roads. It was originally named Lake Imelda and was declared a national park on June 2, 1972 by virtue of presidential memorandum issued by then President Ferdinand Marcos .
These large lakes are generally 6–8 feet (1.8–2.4 m) at their deepest, and the marshes support a huge variety of wildlife. The mile of open ground between Knight's Lake and the beach was selected as the site for the fort, as it was a natural chokepoint, with the road on Sabine Ridge providing a route of resupply and communication with the town.
