In typography, a bullet or bullet point, •, is a typographical symbol or glyph used to introduce items in a list. For example: • Item 1 • Item 2 • Item 3. The bullet symbol may take any of a variety of shapes, such as circular, square, diamond or arrow. Typical word processor software offers a wide selection of shapes and colors.
For infoboxes, a bulleted list can be converted to unbulleted or horizontal style with simple templates, to suppress both the large bullets and the indentation. Do not double-space the lines of the list by leaving blank lines after them. Doing this breaks the list into multiple lists, defeating the purpose of using list markup.

You saw an example of bulleted lists at the top of Figure 14-1, with wikitext in Figure 14-2. That's an embedded list, but the code is exactly the same for standalone lists.
