The Saleh Mosque in Sanaa, Yemen reportedly handles up to 44,000 worshippers - which would place it ahead of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque (I've been in both - and I'm thinking the Sanaa mosque is NOT as big as the Sheikh Zayed mosque - although it is both significant in size, and beautiful).
