As a throwback to Jessica’s electrician grandfather, Dave installed an electrical conduit across the ceiling for lighting. simple, monochromatic paint and decor made this all-in-one room come together.
We modernized the clunky fireplace by removing the stone, which allowed more space and gave it a smooth, sleek look. A beam on the ceiling tied together the wood floors and fireplace mantle for a cozy living area. AFTER: A cozy, warm space with a sleek fireplace.
Dave added hand-carved wooden inserts to the huge fireplace mirror to give it an art deco look. We also smoothed out the stucco layers on the fireplace and added new marble-inspired quartz as a surround. Together, the new fireplace and mirror create a beautiful, modernized focal point for the room.
