The Isuzu Giga (Japanese: いすゞ・ギガ) is a line of heavy-duty commercial vehicles produced by Isuzu since 1994. Outside Japan it is known as Isuzu C/E series. [2] It was formally known as the Isuzu Heavy-Duty Truck'. [3] Between 1994 and 2016, it was also sold in South America (under the Chevrolet brand as Chevrolet C/E series).
Isuzu released the 4-tonne (8,800 lb) TY-series in May 1966. This semi-cabover design was Isuzu's first medium-duty truck. The original engine fitted was the D370, a 3.6 L (3,644 cc) inline-six diesel engine with 100 PS (74 kW). The types were TY20, TY30, and TY40 depending on the length of the chassis.
