MacKerricher State Park is a state park in California in the United States. It is located 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Fort Bragg in Mendocino County . It covers 9 miles (14 km) of coastline and contains several types of coastal habitat , including beaches , dunes , headlands , coves , wetlands , tide pools , forest , and a freshwater lake .
Harrington Beach State Park is a 715-acre (289 ha) Wisconsin state park [1] on the shore of Lake Michigan in the Town of Belgium. In addition to a mile-long beach, the park contains a white cedar swamp surrounding a 26-acre (11 ha) lake that used to be a stone quarry. The park provides campgrounds, hiking trails, picnic, and bird watch areas.
Stonehaven is a former community in the Town of Belgium, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. From 1901 until 1925, the community was a company town of the Lake Shore Stone Company, which operated a 25-acre dolomite quarry in the area near the western shore of Lake Michigan. The land is now the site of Harrington Beach State Park.
R. D. Pike operated a private fish hatchery on this site from the 1860s to 1895, when he donated the land to the state. The state built a new hatchery, with the gambrel-roofed Victorian building holding an office, living quarters, and a fish egg propagation area washed by the waters of Birch Run Creek.
