It was established as Shree Sagar in 1950 by Raghavendra and the management was passed on to Ramakrishna Holla in 1952. It was bought by Sanjeeva S Poojari in 1992 and was renamed Shri Sagar formally known as Central Tiffin Room (CTR) . [2] The restaurant was renovated in 2011 to add more capacity. [3]
The original site was a very simple structure, and the current structure was only built under Maratha rule, some 150 years after it had been moved.
