The Ioway Tribal National Park is a tribal national park established by the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. The 444-acre park is located entirely within the Ioway Reservation, next to the Missouri River southeast of Rulo on the border between Kansas and Nebraska. [1] The Park was created in 2020 and is set to open to the public in 2025.
The Iowa (or Ioway or Báxoje, their endonym) Tribe [4] originated in the Great Lakes region. [5] They migrated south and west into Missouri, but were relocated to Kansas under the provisions of the Platte Purchase of 1836. Subsequent treaties in 1854 and 1861 further reduced the Iowa land holdings to the "Diminished Reserve."
The Iowa Reservation is located in Richardson County in southeastern Nebraska and Brown and Doniphan Counties in northeastern Kansas. It spans 1,500 acres (6.1 km 2 ) of checkerboard lands, alternating between tribal and non-Native ownership.

The Sac and Fox Reservation of Sauk (Sac) and Meskwaki (Fox) people is a 23.639 sq mi (61.226 km 2) tract located in southeastern Richardson County, Nebraska, and northeastern Brown County, Kansas. It is governed by the Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska , and the headquarters for reservation is in Reserve, Kansas .
