Please print temporary Driver License using "Print Temporary Driver License" button below and carry it along with your original Driver License. The DC DMV will mail your driver license within 10 to 15 days to your current address on DMV records.
Vehicle Registration Renewals. A renewal notice from DC DMV will be sent to the customer via mail or email, 60 calendar days before the current vehicle registration expires. Vehicles must have a valid inspection to renew the registration.
To legally register your new or used vehicle in the District, you must visit a DC DMV service center with the following: Completed Certificate of Title/Temporary Tag Application. All owners must be listed on the vehicle title. The vehicle must pass DC inspection.
