    Like mondello said, if you wait until 100,000 points it is a $1,500 credit, or 1.5%. If you redeem under that, it is only 1% (i.e. 10,000 points=$100). Since you have the points you obviously want to use them, but for future reference there are much better cards out there. Citi offers a card that is 2% cash back for everything.

    Exactly what we do. And if you are applying points against eligible purchases of $1500 or more, the redemption rate is 1.5% instead of the usual 1%. For this reason, we try to make sure we don't charge any Carnival purchase less than $1500. This means that we don't pre-purchase excursions, drink packages, etc.

You can apply funpoints towards Holland America but you only get $1 per point. There is a calculator on the Barclays app that you can use as a guide for redemption planning.

    I had read several posts indicating that the new points were better and boy are they. They even have a calculator which will tell you how many points you need to pay for your cruise. Quite simply the rate is 59.88 points for every $1 of your cruise. For instance if I wanted to book a $2500 cruise, it would cost me 149,701 points.

    There are a few options to look at. The basic concept is about $1.00 per point. 10,000 points = $100.00. You want to look for things that relate to that equivalent or HIGHER. Generally, I redeem points for a statement credit and then use that credit for more carnival purchases to re-earn double points.
