10-27-2009, 05:12 AM. If you want a bios, you must extract the bios files from your PS2. If you need more information, you can read this guide. It should cover everything you need to get the ps2 working on a computer. Scroll down to the bottom and you should see where it's titled "BIOS (Basic Input Output System)."
Now select uLaunchELF from the hacked OSDSYS. Press the circle button then select mass:. Now browse to the PS2Ident.elf file and press circle. Press the button indicated on the screen to dump your BIOS. You should have a copy of your "BIOS files" on your USB stick (the folder that contains your PS2's model number).

PCSX2 0.9.4 will be using the new format BIOS (*.p2b) created by BIOS Dumper v2.0, as it dumps a more "complete" copy of the BIOS.
1 Locate the folder of the dump. 2 Copy the foldername of the first subfolder into Root/ID. 3 Rightclick on the "Filename\Size" box and choose "Add File". 4 Browse to the folder in question. 5 Select the first file and repeat step 2-4 until all files have been listed. 6 Choose "File"\"Save As" in the menu.
10-13-2020, 06:07 PM. Yes, and yes. Once you have FreeMCBoot, running the BIOS dumper is as simple as clicking a few buttons. And the fat PS2 BIOS is usable for PS1 in PCSX2, but slim BIOSes will not work. Should add an extra note, PS1 games are bootable but not going to run super well.

I have a few consoles around so I guess I can do that. The steps I need to do is to burn an iso file onto a CD-R, put a USB in to collect the bios file, run the program on the disc when the console starts, dump it onto the USB, and finished. The problem is that I don't think any PS2s in my house can read discs nor do I think I have any unburned ...
