Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited (French: Ford du Canada Limitée) was founded on August 17, 1904, for the purpose of manufacturing and selling Ford automobiles in Canada. It was originally known as the Walkerville Wagon Works [ 1 ] and was located in Walkerville , Ontario (now part of Windsor , Ontario).

Studebaker half-ton pickup trucks were assembled at Hamilton, Ontario, from 1950 through 1955. Studebaker of Canada and Packard Motor Company of Canada merged in 1954. Packard had ceased Canadian assembly operations in 1939, and the Canadian affiliate was a distribution and administrative organization.
In 2013, Ford announced an investment of CA$700 million to upgrade the plant to manufacture vehicles of global platform with the assistance from the governments of Canada and Ontario of CA$140 million worth to the project. The plant assembled 255,924 vehicles in 2012, and 258,358 vehicles in 2013.
