AQA Education, [1] trading as AQA (formerly the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance), is an awarding body in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It compiles specifications and holds examinations in various subjects at GCSE , AS and A Level and offers vocational qualifications.
NEAB, the AEB and the vocational City & Guilds formed the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA) in 1997, [18] with the AEB and NEAB formally merging into AQA in 2000 (City & Guilds chose to remain independent, but sold its GNVQ provision to AQA). AQA is run as an educational charity.
