Dallas College El Centro Campus (El Centro or ECC) is a public community college in Dallas, Texas.It is part of Dallas College. [1]The campus is located at 801 Main Street in downtown Dallas, in the former Sanger Harris department store building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [2]
Dallas College was founded as the Dallas County Junior College District in 1965, and became known as the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) in 1972. The first campus, El Centro College, was established in 1966 in downtown Dallas. Bill J. Priest served as the founding chancellor from 1965 until his retirement in 1981. [5]
In 1922, the campus moved to its current location on Stanley Street. In Fall 2023, the university unveiled its new logo. The school was again renamed in 1959, becoming the Central Connecticut State College. [14] In 1983, the school transitioned from a college to a regional university and thus became Central Connecticut State University.

The University of Central Arkansas (Central Arkansas or UCA) is a public university in Conway, Arkansas. Founded in 1907 as the Arkansas State Normal School, the university is one of the oldest in the U.S. state of Arkansas. [2] As the state's only normal school at the time, UCA has historically been the primary source of teachers in Arkansas. [2]
