The Puffing Billy Railway is a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge heritage railway in the southern foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne, Australia. The railway was one of the five narrow gauge lines of the Victorian Railways which opened around the beginning of the 20th century.
Beyond Belgrave, the narrow-gauge line has been restored as the Puffing Billy Railway, which runs tourist services to the original terminus of Gembrook. The line operates for approximately 19 hours a day (from approximately 5:00 am to around 12:00 am) with 24 hour service available on Friday and Saturday nights.

The narrow gauge line, these days known as Puffing Billy, brought tourists from Melbourne, as well as enabling timber and local produce, including fruit trees and potatoes, to be taken back to Melbourne.
The Puffing Billy Running Festival is an annual event held between Belgrave and Emerald Lake. The event includes a 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) kids dash, 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) fun run, 13.5 kilometres (8.4 mi) classic, and a 21.1 kilometres (13.1 mi) half marathon, which has been held in the third quarter of the year since 2023.
