Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering (KMSME) located in Cochin, Kerala, India, is the first marine engineering college in the state of Kerala. [1] Located in the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) main campus, KMSME started its first batch of four-year B-Tech marine engineering programme in 2003 and opened its own campus in 2007. [2]
The department offers postgraduate programmes leading to the degrees of MSc (Physics), M.Phil. (Physics) and PhD. The Department of Physics conducts a science awareness programme in physics [9] [10] and the National Space Olympiad [11] [12] [13] in association with the IUCAA Resource Centre, CUSAT and Edumithra Intellectual Services.
Established in 1979 for offering part-time M.Tech programmes. The school was the first in the country to introduce Information Technology as an engineering stream and is one among very few colleges in the country with a B. Tech course in Safety and Fire Engineering. The school is a Research Centre and major Consultancy Centre.
MEC was previously affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) until 2015. 'Excel' is the annual national techno-managerial festival conducted by MEC since 2001 under the motto "Inspire, Innovate, Engineer". All B.Tech programs offered by the institute are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The MCA program of CUSAT currently administered at the Department of Computer Applications, a constituent of the School of Computer Science Studies, has been well served by his leadership.
