Tyndall Air Force Base (IATA: PAM, ICAO: KPAM, FAA LID: PAM) is a United States Air Force Base located 12 miles (19 km) east of Panama City, Florida. The base was named in honor of World War I pilot 1st Lt. Frank Benjamin Tyndall. The base operating unit and host wing is the 325th Fighter Wing (325 FW) of the Air Combat Command (ACC).
The center was inactivated on 12 September 1991. First Air Force held a change of command and was officially relocated from Langley AFB, Virginia, to Tyndall AFB, Florida. [4] On 1 October the 325th Tactical Training Wing was re-designated as the 325th Fighter Wing, when it implemented the objective wing organization.
The 325th Fighter Wing's primary mission is to project unrivaled combat airpower for America. The wing is currently transitioning to the F-35A Lightning II.When the transition is complete, the 325th Fighter Wing will become the Air Force’s newest operational fighter wing with three F-35A squadrons tasked to maintain combat readiness in support of national defense.
The 325th Air Control Squadron was a part of the 325th Fighter Wing, based at the United States Air Force's Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.Originally constituted the 325th Fighter Control Squadron in March 1943, the 325th served in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations during WWII.

The first five F-22 Raptors left Holloman AFB for Tyndall AFB on 6 January 2014 with the final four-ship tactical sortie being flown on 20 February. The final F-22 departed for Tyndall AFB on 9 April 2014 and the 44 FG completed its relocation from Holloman to Tyndall as an AFRC associate unit to the 325th Fighter Wing (325 FW) on 12 July 2014.
