Thy National Park (Danish: Nationalpark Thy) is a national park area in Thy, Denmark, opened to the public on 22 August 2008.It is located in Northwest Jutland, along the coast from Hanstholm to Agger Tange and it spans 55 km (34 mi) north to south and 5–12 km (3.1–7.5 mi) east to west.
The creation of the park - Denmark's second [2] - was announced by Minister of the Environment Troels Lund Poulsen on 17 January 2008. It was proposed that the park would be established under the Executive Order 789, dated 21 August 2009, into national law. The park was finally inaugurated by Queen Margrethe II on 29 August 2009.
Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse (Danish: Rubjerg Knude Fyr) is on the coast of the North Sea in Rubjerg , in the Jutland municipality of Hjørring in northern Denmark. It was first lit on 27 December 1900. [2] Construction of the lighthouse began in 1899.
