Endsleigh Cottage (now "Endsleigh House") is a country house near Milton Abbot, about 6 miles NW of Tavistock, Devon in England. It is a Grade I listed building. The gardens are Grade I listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. [1] The house was built in the early 19th century for the Duke of Bedford. Today, it is a hotel.
Tavistock House was the London home of the noted British author Charles Dickens and his family from 1851 to 1860. At Tavistock House Dickens wrote Bleak House , Hard Times , Little Dorrit and A Tale of Two Cities .
Its nearest town is Tavistock, which lies approximately 2.7 miles (4.3 km) south-east from the hamlet. The hamlet is situated on the B3362 and consists of approximately a dozen residences and a public house , the "Copper Penny Inn" (formerly the "Chipshop Inn").
Sunbridge is located approximately 20 minutes south of Orlando International Airport and 6 miles (10 km) from Tavistock’s Lake Nona community. It is bordered by the Alligator Chain of Lakes to the east and Lake Tohopekaliga to the west. The community is located near major highways, including Florida's Turnpike and Florida State Road 417. Tavistock South was the Great Western Railway's station, on the route between Launceston and Plymouth. This was closed and mostly dismantled between 1962 and 1965.
