Earl D. Plumlee (born April 6, 1980) [1] is a retired master sergeant in the United States Army. He was presented the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan that took place on 28 August 2013 and presented to him by President Joe Biden on December 16, 2021; [ 2 ] awarded the same day, posthumously, were Alwyn Cashe and Christopher Celiz .
The Cold Meadows Guard Station is a ranger station located northeast of McCall, Idaho in the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness and the Payette National Forest. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The ranger station was completed in 1938. There was a complement of 200 enrollees and 45 local experienced men (LEMS) at the camp working under 5 army officers. Several buildings built for the camp, at some distance from the station, are still in use as a summer church camp (Mt Baker Bibleway Camp) on the Mt. Baker highway. [ 2 ]
