Hampton Loade The only 'Reaction Cable' ferry in the UK. The most recent boat dated from 2004. It was 20 feet (6.1 m) by 9 feet (2.7 m) and carried up to 12 passengers plus the operator. Was operated by the Hampton Loade Community Trust at weekends during the summer provided the river level was suitable. Closed permanently in 2016. [2]

Twickenham Ferry was built by Swan, Hunter and Wigham Richardson Ltd as yard number 1446. Launched on 15 March 1934, [3] completion was in July. [2] Jointly owned by the Southern Railway & Angleterre-Lorraine-Alsace, she was built for service on the Dover - Dunkerque route, [1] but initially operated out of Southampton as the new facilities at Dover were not ready.
