South Bend Central High School (originally called South Bend High School) is a historic high school complex located at 303 West Colfax Avenue in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, U.S. It was built between 1911 and 1913, and is a two- to three-story, eclectic red brick building with limestone trim. It sits on a raised foundation.
In 2017, Gary Community Corp became the first school system in Indiana involved in a state takeover. Control of the district was transferred from the elected school board and appointed school superintendent to the State of Indiana's Distressed Unit Appeals Board, which placed MGT Consulting and Emergency Fiscal Manager Peggy Hinckley in charge of managing the district. North Central was established in 1956 in response to Washington Township's rapidly growing population and the desire of residents to have a local high school. Prior to this, students from the township attended Broad Ripple High School and Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. (At this time, most of the township was outside the city limits.)

Its original location (1864-1867) was in the former Ward 1 Elementary School at Vermont and New Jersey Streets. Emerson High School was a public high school of the Gary Community School Corporation, located in a historic facility in Gary, Indiana, United States. In 1981, Emerson closed as a high school. For approximately 17 years, the facility housed a performing arts magnet program, which has since relocated and is still in operation.
