Te Puea Memorial Marae is a marae located in Māngere Bridge, Auckland, New Zealand.Opened in 1965, it was the first urban marae in Auckland, built for all Māori instead of a specific iwi, but in particular as a community centre for local urban Māori communities around Onehunga and Māngere, and for the Waikato Tainui iwi.
The state fair occupied the site until 1884, when it moved to a new location north of Columbus. With the change, the lot was abandoned. But on May 17, 1886, the site was officially revived when the Ohio State Legislature passed a resolution declaring it open for use as a public park.
Its 3–4.5-metre-high (9 ft 10 in – 14 ft 9 in) eruptions occur quite independently of its near neighbour Waikorohihi. Wairoa Geyser, acclaimed as erupting 60 m (200 ft) high, last erupted naturally in December 1940 after which its water level fell to 4.5 m (15 ft) below overflow and the water became acidic.
Monte Cecilia Park once housed a significant wetland named Te Puia, and later Beveridge Swamp. This was later drained and used for farming. [ 3 ] Business Thomas Russell was the next owner until 1877 when James Williamson bought the farm and built the Pah Homestead on the site. [ 3 ]

Six other marae are also based at or near Kawhia Harbour: Mōkai Kainga Marae and Ko Te Mōkai meeting house is a meeting place for the Ngāti Maniapoto hapū of Apakura and Hikairo, and the Waikato Tainui hapū of Apakura. Mokoroa Marae and Ngā Roimata meeting house is a meeting place for the Waikato hapū of Ngati Kiriwai.
