Nester Township is a civil township of Roscommon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 262 at the 2020 census. Nester was named after Thomas Nester, a businessperson in the local logging industry. [3] The township contains the Eggleston School, the only property in the county listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Benzie County Courthouse was constructed in 1912 as a recreation center and hotel, named The Grand. The school and its property were financed by the township's largest landowner, Mary Eggleston.
