Mason, also known as Mason City, [5] is a town in Mason County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 865 at the 2020 census . [ 2 ] It is part of the Point Pleasant , WV– OH Micropolitan Statistical Area .
Point Pleasant Historic District is a national historic district located at Point Pleasant, Mason County, West Virginia.The district includes 93 contributing buildings and one contributing site in Point Pleasant's central business district and surrounding residential areas.
It was the home of Virgil A. Lewis (1848-1912), the first State Historian and Archivist of West Virginia, 1905–1912. It was the headquarters of the Mason City Historical Society. [2] It was demolished in 2014 and the Virgil A. Lewis Park now occupies the site. [3] The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. [1]
