The Downs Festival is a (usually) two day arts festival which takes place annually on the Downs in Bristol, England. The first event was held on September 4, 2016 with the headliner being the Bristol-based trip-hop band Massive Attack. Over the years, it has hosted the likes of Elbow, Groove Armada, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and IDLES.

Bristol Beacon, previously Colston Hall, is a concert hall and Grade II listed building on Colston Street, Bristol, England. It is owned by Bristol City Council. Since 2011, it has been managed by Bristol Music Trust. The hall opened as a concert venue in 1867, and became a popular place for classical music and theatre.
Bristol City Council donated £50. [2] The following year the festival took place over one weekend and was located near to Ashton Court mansion. After this, new organisers came on board and fund-raising gigs were held enabling the event to grow steadily through the 1970s. [2]
