Gulf English School Kuwait (GES) is a private, co-educational, international school that is currently located in the suburb of Salmiya, Kuwait. The school has a selective intake of students aged 4–18. Most teaching programmes are based on the National Curriculum of England.
In 1921, the Al-Ahmedia school was established, which offered English courses, and soon thereafter, an all-girls school was founded that provided education in Arabic, home economics and Islamic Studies. The government became involved in providing formal education in 1936, and by 1945 there were 17 schools in Kuwait.
The Kuwait English School was established in 1978 by Jassim Al Saddah, who acted as the chairman of the school, alongside Rhoda Elizabeth Muhmood, as the school's director until 2022. [1] The school was originally a villa until 1984 where they established a "proper" school facility.
