In the mid-1980s, GM released the Saturn Concept Car. The car, which resembled the first Saturn SL, was not originally meant to start up a brand; however, GM planned to release the Saturn car under one of its brands, which, at the time, were Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac, and GMC.
This is a list of Saturn vehicles, or vehicles produced by the Saturn Corporation, a former subsidiary of General Motors. The list spans vehicles from 1990 to 2009, [ 1 ] with concept vehicles as early as 1984.
Three other concept vehicles were built on the initial Kappa platform, and shown at the 2004 NAIAS: The Vauxhall VX Lightning, The Saturn Curve and Chevrolet Nomad. All three cars were received reasonably well, [clarification needed] but were not nearly as embraced as the original Solstice Concept. [citation needed]
The Saturn Aura was the 2007 North American Car of the Year. The concept used a 252 hp (186 kW) 3.6 L V6 and a new 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission. [7] That powertrain was offered in the production model known as the XR.
The Saturn Curve was a roadster concept by Saturn designed by Michael Mauer who was the former head of design at Saab Automobile.It was shown at the 2004 North American International Auto Show along with the Saturn Sky concept.
The Saturn S-series is a family of compact cars from the Saturn automobile company of General Motors. Saturn pioneered the brand-wide "no-haggle" sales technique.
