The Honda CR series was a line of two-stroke off-road motorcycles made by Honda from 1973 to 2007. They are racing motorcycles with countless trophies in the 125, 250 and 500 motocross classes.
CR125M Elsinore. The Honda CR125M Elsinore is a motorcycle designed and manufactured by Honda and released in late 1973. Modeled after the first Elsinore, the Honda CR250M, the 124cc version sold for $749 at its debut.
The Honda CBR125R is a CBR series 125 cc (7.6 cu in) single-cylinder sport bike made by Honda.The CBR125R first appeared on the market in 2004. It is manufactured in Thailand by A.P. Honda alongside the similarly designed CBR150R, which is primarily aimed for the Far East market.
The MT125R shares many parts with the CR125 engine. The CR versions were motocross bikes with similar specifications. One notable difference was the shift pattern on the transmission. Both had the standard 1 down 5 up pattern. On MT125R versions the shift lever was flipped over rearward to accommodate the rearset footpegs of the MT roadracer.
The Honda CR250M had a two-stroke 29 horsepower engine, and weighed in at 229 pounds (104 kg). [2] [3] Designed by Soichiro Miyakoshi, the prototype production machine began testing in Japan in 1971, and on California motocross tracks in 1972. [4]
Marty Smith (November 26, 1956 – April 27, 2020) was an American professional motocross racer. [1] He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1974 to 1981, most prominently as a member of the Honda factory racing team with whom he won 18 AMA race victories and three National Motocross championships.
