Blues Image onstage at The Whisky with Jim Morrison and Eric Burdon in May 1969. The band moved to Los Angeles and signed with Atco Records, releasing their self-titled debut album in February 1969. [1] Their second album, Open was released in April 1970 and included the single "Ride Captain Ride."
Mike and Dennis produced the album together. Mike Pinera wrote 3 songs and Dennis Renick wrote 3 songs. The title song "Came To Believe" was a co-write. It was partially released in 2022 with 2 songs as a promo. The album will soon be released in 2025. This is the last original work of Mike Pinera before he passed on November 20, 2024.

Pinera was known for his work with Blues Image ("Ride Captain Ride") and Iron Butterfly. Mitchell had been a member of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The group also included some former members of Janis Joplin's Big Brother and The Holding Company.
