In partnership with the Harris County Public Library, which will operate the branch, the Kingwood Branch in Kingwood is a "City-County" branch in exchange for $4.2 million to fund the building of a new 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m 2) facility. Infinity ECHS was founded in 2013 for residents of New Caney and Porter. Partnering with the Lone Star College Kingwood, students can earn a college degree while in secondary school. The school initially operated at New Caney High School annex building until December 2017.
