The Morris Cove Historic District encompasses a former summer resort area in eastern New Haven, Connecticut.Bounded in the north by Myron Street, the south by Morris Causeway and Lighthouse Road, and on the east by the East Haven town line, the area was developed as a coastal summer community before being transformed into a streetcar suburb in the second quarter of the 20th century.

It is bordered on the north by Upson Terrace and The Annex neighborhood, on the east by the town of East Haven, on the west and south by Long Island Sound. [1] The area contains several city parks, most notably Lighthouse Point Park (the main public beach of New Haven), East Shore Park, and Nathan Hale Park.
In 1943, it was extended south along Thompson Avenue (formers SR 558) to the entrance of Tweed-New Haven Airport. In 1962, the southern end of Route 100 was relocated, taking over part of Route 142 to Silver Sands Road, ending at a reconfigured Route 142, which was changed to continue west along Silver Sands Road and modern Route 337 .
