Nagorno-Karabakh (/ n ə ˌ ɡ ɔːr n oʊ k ər ə ˈ b ɑː k / ⓘ, nə-GOR-noh kər-ə-BAHK; [3] lit. ' Upper Karabakh ') is a region in Azerbaijan, covering the southeastern stretch of the Lesser Caucasus mountain range.
