Dead Women Crossing, also known as Dead Woman's Crossing, [1] is an unincorporated community on Deer Creek northeast of Weatherford [2] in Custer County, Oklahoma, United States, at an elevation of 1,509 feet (460 m). [3] [4] [5] The community takes its name from the unsolved murder of a local woman.
Hammon is a town in the U.S. state of Oklahoma, the majority of which is in Roger Mills County, but some of which extends into Custer County. [4] It is located at the junction of Oklahoma State Highways 33 and 34. [5] The town is named for Indian agent James H. Hammon, who was assigned to the Red Moon Agency near the future site of Hammon.
