The Cape Cod School of Art, also known as Hawthorne School of Art, [1] was the first outdoor school of figure painting in America; it was started by Charles Webster Hawthorne in Provincetown, Massachusetts, in 1898. [2] The Hawthorne Class Studio building off Miller Hill Road is on the List of Nationally Registered Historic Places.
Summer (1909). Frank Weston Benson, frequently referred to as Frank W. Benson, (March 24, 1862 – November 15, 1951) was an American artist from Salem, Massachusetts, known for his Realistic portraits, American Impressionist paintings, watercolors and etchings.
Howard Noel Watson was born on May 19, 1929, in Pottsville, PA, to James B. and Lillie E. Hunter Watson, the youngest of three boys. His father was a cartoonist and illustrator for the Baltimore Afro-American newspaper and a well-known photo engraver, commercial artist and sign painter (he also made posters for some local theaters).

Charles Clark Reid (August 12, 1937 – June 1, 2019) [1] was an American painter, illustrator, and teacher, notable for his watercolor style. [2] He won numerous national and international awards for both his watercolor and oil works, and also hosted many workshops in the US and abroad.
